Andy Frey
Andy grew up in Michigan. He's married to an amazing and patient woman (see mad scientist stuff chronicled at StuffAndyMakes.com). "Steve" the jackalope hangs on the wall of his "Man Cave" at home.
First computer: Atari 400 (circa 7th grade) (circa 1980). In 25 years in the IT industry: Engineered a 190-mile fiber-optic network, Novell CNE, wrote Windows software (back in version 2!), built IntarWeb servers and websites starting in 1995, and has coded in languages from assembly language (6502, AVR, ARM) to Objective-C.
Andy has logged over 2,400 skydives. He tinkers with electronics in his spare time and has built a number of semi-useful gadgets (see his website). Several devices are on display at the melt office. Thankfully, motorizing one's office chair is not frowned upon at melt.
